Sneak Preview - NDSearch - Available to All Users March 20, 2008

NetDocuments, a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) document, email and records management service provider announced today that it has released its new searching engine, NDSearch™, based on Fast Search & Transfer™, the leading global provider of search technologies. Most recently, Microsoft Corp. announced that it will make an offer to acquire Fast Search & Transfer ASA.

NDSearch is being deployed as the indexing and retrieval platform for the NetDocuments Service at both NetDocuments primary and secondary Global Datacenters. NDSearch is a scalable, reliable, and feature-rich enterprise index and retrieval platform, providing searching technology for a single repository of documents, images, emails, attachments, and digital records. NDSearch will be implemented in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, where all maintenance, updates, upgrades, and optimization will be handled by NetDocuments, thus relieving NetDocuments customers from maintenance and support of the index structure. NDSearch is being deployed in a redundant and highly-available infrastructure across two datacenters for business continuity.

Make Content Discoverable

NDSearch, powered by FAST, preserves NetDocuments' secure searching technology which enforces access control and ethical walls, while offering such enhanced functionality as relevancy ranking, proximity and phrase searching, linguistics and lemmatization, data classification, topic and entity extraction. Users will not only be able to quickly retrieve documents, but will also be able to analyze the people, companies, locations, dates, and concepts associated with matters and projects.

In addition, NetDocuments with NDSearch can facilitate compliance rules set by Sarbanes Oxley, Graham Leach Bliley and HIPAA, as well as the new Federal Rules for Civil Procedures which require companies to locate and produce all relevant "electronically stored information" as part of the discovery process in litigation.

NDSearch helps NetDocuments users better comprehend the key facts associated with a set of documents and to infer "cause and effect" relationships. The goal is to provide advanced tools for NetDocuments customers to better server their own customers and to gain significant efficiencies in the management of their internal intellectual property.

Did You Read the LTN Cover Story "Pipe Dreams No More?"

The March 2008 issue of Legal Technology News (www.lawtechnews.com) cover story features an excellent article written by our very own and prestigious customers, Wayne Smith, IS Manager of Chester, Wilcox and Saxbe, and Mark Manoukian, IT director at Kegler, Brown, Hill and Ritter, both law firms based in Columbus, Ohio.

The article begins: "By all accounts, software-as-a-service (SaaS) is taking the legal world by storm — and other recent developments, such as virtualization and open source software, are knocking at the door. Here's an overview of each of these hot trends, and how smaller firms can benefit. First, let's consider SaaS. Imagine for a moment a world without software, or servers, or perpetual maintenance and upgrades — where your web browser magically becomes a gateway to unimagined possibilities. Now envision a reality where your IT infrastructure actually grows smaller and easier to manage; where you can have the latest, greatest technology — without the cost or complexity of on-premise systems. Sound incredible?

Not really. SaaS delivers on all these promises, and the good news is that offerings are available right now and getting better every day."

Way to Go! Wayne and Mark. We appreciate all you customers who are evangelists in the cause of Simplicity, Power, Freedom and delivering technology Cheaper, Faster and Better!

DocsCorp pdfDocs Now Integrated with NetDocuments

DocsCorp, www.docscorp.com a global leader in PDF integration technology, has significantly expanded its integration capability with NetDocuments.

pdfDocs provides PDF creation, collation, annotation, redaction, form filling, OCR, document comparison and binding capability to law firms at a cost that is significantly less the other solutions.

Integration with pdfDocs Desktop means that NetDocuments users will be able to "pull down" documents to their local system and convert them to PDF files. In addition, pdfDocs Desktop provides users with all the tools they need for collation, annotation, redaction and form filling. The final document is saved back into the repository as a new document or as a related document.

DocsCorp plans to extend its integration within the next couple of months to help NetDocuments provide an even more feature-rich, efficient and secure document service to its clients.
