Release 5 - Expected Release Date - October 2, 2008
We are excited about the EMS 2.0 release with R5 as it not only simplifies the setup and end-user management of EMS, but
also provides many of the enhancements our customers have been requesting. R5 also releases WORM cabinets for SEC rule
17a-4 compliancy for broker and dealers. R5 automates the updating of client/account information from Salesforce.com to
NetDocuments lookup tables. Give our support team a call to learn more.
Email Management Service (EMS) 2.0
Watch this demonstration and contact us if you'd like to test drive EMS and discuss how best to implement it with your users. Once your repository has been enabled to use EMS, you can go to My Account>Application Settings>Install EMS Add-in. Once R5 is released, the older version of EMS will no longer be downloadable. EMS 1.0 will need to be uninstalled before you install EMS 2.0. NetDocuments will continue to support existing users of EMS 1.0 for nine months until June 30th, 2009.
Archival Cabinets - Write Once - Read Many (WORM)NetDocuments now provides virtual WORM cabinets where electronic files can be written once, read many times, but never altered or deleted. Digital records stored in WORM cabinets are tamper proof. Not even the customer's administrators can remove or modify such files without the NetDocuments records retention policies being enforced and history logged as to actions taken. The initial purpose of these Archive Cabinets are for Financial Service Broker-Dealers who need to comply with the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) and FINRA regulations, specifically, SEC Rules 17a-3 and 17a-4.
Updating NetDocuments Lookup Tables from Salesforce.com
Watch videoFor customers who have integrated Salesforce.com and NetDocuments together requiring the maintenance of Profile lookup tables, you can now press a button on the specific Account page for a new account, or on the NetDocuments Administration tab within Salesforce.com for all Accounts or Opportunities. The respective Account names will be immediately updated in the NetDocuments Profile lookup tables. Contact our Support for assistance in setting up.
Where's "My Cabinet?"Don't panic it's still there ... just hidden by default. With R5, if you still wish to display My Cabinet on the navigation pane, simply go to My Account>Account Information. Select the checkbox to display. |

Payne Metadata Assistant Integrates with NetDocuments
Payne Consulting Group is pleased to announce their new integration with NetDocuments. The latest version of the Metadata
Assistant (2.12) gives users the ability to quickly clean Word, Excel and PowerPoint files from NetDocuments. By selecting
a file and choosing the Mark/Launch option, the Metadata Assistant automatically cleans and then checks-in the cleaned file.
The cleaned file is checked-in as a new version and the original document is left in tact. When cleaning, the Metadata Assistant utilizes the last set of user-selected options; however, the Metadata Assistant can be configured to always default to your company's global metadata settings. A quick glance at the version history will show when the file was last cleaned by the Metadata Assistant. If your Application Settings allow for Desktop Email Integration, the Metadata Assistant utilizes the standard Outlook and GroupWise integration and default email options to process the Word, Excel and PowerPoint attachments. Any inquiries about purchasing Metadata Assistant retail or enterprise licenses can be directed to customerrelations@payneconsulting.com. |
